Story # 4 : Hot & Sweet

When Srinath walked into Padma Cafe that evening, it had been the end of another ordinary day. There was, despite the depressing seeming routine he had become part of, still a sense of placid emotions that kept him adrift. He was a single man without the care or the need for marriage and it did seem like life was alright after all. As he ordered his usual round of 'hot & sweet' tea and sat back to gaze upon the insanity the world was subjecting on itself, it felt good to be just that - an observer. An impartial eye to watch in silence as hundreds got cheated, millions got murdered and billions went hungry. Yes - this was his role and he had to play it. Quietly.

But then walked in young Bhavya. A girl in her late teens and possibly from a well to do family. She walked right up to a weary Srinath and asked him if she could sit down. Surprised, and quite frankly curious, he accepted. She then began to tell him a story. A story that felt like a regular thriller out of a Bollywood movie - a fact that was actually pleasing Srinath given its entertainment value - until she included him into the mix. O, and what an inclusion that was! Who is she? What did she want? And why is she talking to Srinath and ordering non stop cups  of 'hot & sweet'? The last thing Srinath expected to do that day - was to face stiff contest against his own beliefs. Yes, it was definitely not an ordinary day.
